FIRST - ENTRY LOTTERY DETAILS
Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival
Registration Lottery Procedure
To insure sustainability of the trails, to provide for a consistently high quality event and to preserve organizational sanity, a 2,750-person registration limit for the Chequamegon 40 and Short & Fat cross country events has been established.
To fairly manage the demand for the 2,750 person limited entry spots, a random lottery is held each spring to select the 1,850 spots in the Chequamegon 40 and 900 spots in the Short & Fat. Please take note of the details of this procedure outlined below.
Requesting & Obtaining An Entry Blank September 1 through Early March
An electronic version of the entry blank will be posted on the Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival web page at www.cheqfattire.com from early February to the middle of March. The form can be printed from the page, filled out and submitted with payment by the March 15 postmark date to be included in the lottery drawing.
Those preferring the postal delivery option can submit a self-addressed stamped business size envelope with a note requesting an entry blank. Entry blank requests for the coming year’s event will be accepted anytime between September 1 and March 10. If you come to the event in the fall, you can purchase a stamped envelope at the registration sites and leave it to be mailed with the coming year’s entry blank at a later date.
As soon as they are available, normally by early-February, entry blanks are sent to all those who supplied a self-addressed stamped envelope.
Submitting An Entry Blank From receipt of entry blank through March 15
If you wish to apply for a registration spot, the completed entry form with proper payment must be sent to our office in a business sized envelop by the March 15 postmark deadline.
To accommodate family and team entries, up to four completed entries and payments can be included in a single envelope submitted to the Chequamegon office.
Please submit only one entry per person. Duplicate individual entries discovered during the lottery process will be disqualified from the lottery drawing.
Completed registrations will be accepted only if postmarked by the March 15 postmark deadline. Envelopes postmarked after March 15 will not be included in the registration lottery drawing.
Selection of Entrants Shortly After March 15
Shortly after the March 15 postmarked deadline, the actual random lottery drawing for entry spots will take place. The first 1,850 Chequamegon 40 entries and first 900 Short & Fat entries selected in the random draw will be accepted for the year’s cross country events.
Envelopes containing entry blanks that are incomplete, do not have checks included with them or have more than four entries in them will not be accepted if drawn during the selection process. Duplicate entries discovered during the drawing process will be disqualified from the procedure.
Confirmation of Entry Prior to May 1
Confirmation cards will be sent to the 2,750 participants whose entries are selected as soon as we can process them after the March 15 selection. If you were not selected your check will be returned as soon as possible. It will take at least a month to process the accepted and returned applications.
At the very latest, by May 1 you will be notified via confirmation card if you are in the event or you will have your check returned and notified that you are not in.
Please, no phone calls, faxes or e-mails to confirm your entry until we have had a chance to punch them into our database.
