Chequamegon Bicycle Art Exhibit Debuts

Local and regional artists are invited to participate in an art exhibit to be held during the September 12-14 Chequamegon Festival weekend at Telemark Resort. The show titled “The Art of the Bicycle – The Bicycle as Art” is made possible through a partnership between the Cable Hayward Area Arts Council (CHARAC) and the Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival.

Two and three dimensional works of art that use the bicycle as its inspiration will be accepted into the exhibit. This could be paintings with a bicycle theme, bicycles creatively decorated, or pieces of bicycles used to create free three dimensional expressions of art.

Completed entry forms and the $10.00 entry fee are due no later than September 1 at the Chequamegon office...
All art work labeled with name, address, title, medium and price if for sale and ready to hang or display must be received in advance by September 10 at the event headquarters at Telemark Resort. The exhibit sponsors reserved the right to refuse any artwork considered unsuitable for the display.

A “Meet the Artists” reception is planned for Friday evening, September 12 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. In addition, trophies created by Chequamegon artist in residence Sara Balbin will be presented at the Saturday evening Awards Presentation at Telemark Resort in the following categories: People’s Choice Best Two Dimensional, People’s Choice Best Three Dimensional, Best Use of Bicycle Components in Design (juried award) and Most Creative (juried award).
