Chequamegon Event Clean Up with the GU Crew
We are happy to announce that GU Energy Labs will again sponsor race day trail cleanup efforts at this year’s Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival to be held on September 15. Volunteer members of the GU Clean Up Crew will carefully sweep fifty-six miles of linear race course. While participants are encouraged to pack out what they pack in, the GU Clean Up Crew will pick up what might inadvertently be left behind on race day.
We welcome GU as our partner for this responsible trail cleanup program. With a dedicated “leave no trace” stewardship philosophy we will continue to maintain the trails we ride.
You can join the crew by simply sending an email or letter that asks to have your name added to the sixteen person team. All crew requests should be postmarked by August 1, 2018 to the Chequamegon race office. Be sure to include your email address for follow up correspondence.
Once we have filled the GU Clean Up Crew positions, crew members will receive further instructions detailing their race day assignment. Each volunteer will be assigned a specific trail section to ride, insuring that the entire trail is left in good shape following the racers passing.
A job well done deserves an appreciative thank you. Each volunteer GU Crew member will receive an assortment of GU Energy Labs products that may include GU Energy Gel, GU Brew, GU Chomps and other GU premiums. In further recognition of the noble cleanup effort, each GU Crew member will qualify for a guaranteed reserved registration for the 2019 Chequamegon event.
Crew applications should be received no later than August 1, 2018 to: CFTF, Attention: GU Clean Up Crew, PO Box 267, Cable, WI 54821 or emailed to email@example.com
